Facts about Mexico Mayan Maps 2010

Maya is an ancient civilization in Mexico and the adjective Mayan generally refers to the local people of Mayan parts of Mexico, and Central America and their culture, language and history. Maya civilization is well known all over the world for its art, culture, architecture, mathematical and astronomical systems. Mayan people had the most developed and complex system of writing in the whole of the Americas.




Geographical extents of Maya area or Maya civilization stretches from southern Mexican states to the northern Central America and the present day nations of Guatemala, Belize, Honduras and El Salvador. Climate in the Mayan region varies drastically, as it encompasses a vast landscape from mountains to the semi-arid plains. Moreover, some of the low lying areas are prone to damages by the frequent hurricanes and tropical storms of the Caribbean Sea. Mayan Map is generally divided into three zones Southern Maya Highlands, and Central and Northern Maya Lowlands. Maya Art, Architecture, Writing System (Maya Script), Writing Tools, Pyramids and Observatories are famous all over the world.
